If you are staying in L'Escala, you dont really need to rent a car, the town is small enought that it's possible to travel around the town without the need of a car. Escala

L'Escala is one of Costa Bravas smallest resorts, this does not mean it is small on amenities, L'escala has something for everyone. The centre of town has some great things for everyone, small local gift shops, superb restaurants and bars and also the beach is always blue flagged, this means the water quality is excellent.
The surrounding areas that are close to L'Escala are superb, a short driving distance and you have Empuriabrava, Port de la Selva, L'Estartit and the ever so popular Lloret de Mar.
L'Escala is a small community of only 6000 permanant residents, this swells to 4 or 5 times as many in the high season of July and August. The town has a wealth of nationalities, from English to French, German and now people from eastern Europe are starting to make L'Escala their home town.
